Living, green stuff

As I wandered at a good social distance this morning at Safeway, I casually looked at other shoppers' carts. Shopping during a pandemic creates opportunity for eating crap. Loads of packaged foods with super long shelf life filled most shoppers carts. I get it. But it just made me sad. So I bought a bag of chips.

With the expectation that shopping will become a controlled one time per week experience, I wonder about keeping the green stuff from turning into slime. Herbs and green onions are living on the counter in glass vases. It reminds me to use and enjoy them. I don't cover them with plastic bags to create a greenhouse or put them in the fridge. Change the water everyday or you will have green slime.

The good news is that it's finally spring and I can plant my herbs in my little planter on my front deck. Maybe I will try to plant some green onions while I'm at it. Running to the nursery.
